What does the future of media, AI and digital commerce look like from inside the industry?
PressLogic recently welcomed around 30 students from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) to our Causeway Bay office as part of the HKU Cross-Cultural Career Booster – Intercultural Business Expedition Programme.

Hosted in collaboration with the HKU CEDARS team, the visit was designed to take students beyond the classroom. Through live technology demonstrations, an interactive learning experience, career sharing and direct conversations with industry practitioners, students gained a first-hand look at how data, AI and digital technology are being applied in today's media and marketing landscape.
Turning Social Media Data into Actionable Intelligence
The afternoon began with Jason Fung introducing PressLogic and the evolution of our media and technology ecosystem.
Students were then introduced to MediaLens through a live demonstration, offering a closer look at how social media data can be transformed into actionable intelligence.
Rather than discussing data and technology purely as concepts, the session allowed students to see how digital insights can support real-world analysis and decision-making within the industry.

Learning by Doing with PressLogic Academy
Next came an opportunity for students to put their own knowledge to the test.
Using their mobile phones, participants took part in an interactive game developed through PressLogic Academy, adding a hands-on dimension to the afternoon.
The experience reflected a simple idea behind the visit: understanding technology becomes more meaningful when students can engage with it directly.

Exploring Chat Commerce and AIGC in Real Marketing Workflows
The programme continued with Jessie Chan, who introduced students to two solutions within PressLogic’s technology ecosystem: ChatBooster and BuzzVideo.
Through ChatBooster, students explored how chat commerce can connect conversations with customer journeys and business opportunities. BuzzVideo offered another perspective on the rapidly changing content landscape, demonstrating how AIGC is becoming part of modern video content creation.

Beyond the technology itself, Jessie also shared her career journey and experiences working in the industry, connecting the tools students had just seen with the people and professional paths behind them.
Career Journeys Beyond the Classroom
The conversation then shifted from technology to career development.
Angeline Yu shared her own career journey with the students, offering a first-hand perspective on navigating professional growth and building experience in a fast-moving industry.

Jason later returned to share PressLogic’s recruitment philosophy and what we look for in emerging talent, giving students another perspective on how employers think about potential beyond academic qualifications alone.
The afternoon concluded with an open networking session, where students could speak directly with our HR team, recruiters and speakers about career opportunities, technology and life beyond university.

See It. Try It. Ask About It.
At PressLogic, we believe the most valuable industry exposure comes from getting close to the work itself: seeing the technology, trying it first-hand, and speaking directly with the people building and using it.

As AI, data and emerging technologies continue to reshape media, marketing and commerce, opportunities for students to connect academic learning with real-world applications will become increasingly important.
A big thank you to the HKU CEDARS team and all participants of the Cross-Cultural Career Booster – Intercultural Business Expedition Programme for spending the afternoon with us.
We’re always happy to open our doors to the next generation of talent. 🚀
