PressLogic CEO Shares Start-Up Experience And Success Factors
Giving valuable guidance and concrete support to potential startups and incubatees is the purpose of this sharing session initiated by the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi). Ryan Cheung, CEO & Founder of PressLogic was pleased to become part of it on 20 February at THEi's new campus in Chai Wan, to share his biggest hardship and success factors of running his startup company (PressLogic) from ten to over 170 employees, from one to six offices in six different world-class cities, from zero to over 8 million followers, from data to everything.
During the sharing, Ryan spelled out one of his favourite quotes from Winston Churchill, “Those who never change their minds, never change anything.” to back his insights:
(1) Be Flexible & Open-minded — In this ever-changing world, we cannot be stubborn and stick to the way we work. We have to adjust and be innovative to work things out, and get the jobs done efficiently and effectively at the same time.
(2) Be Responsive & Decisive — The world doesn't wait, so we need to be responsive and decisive. We do not mind spending a little money and effort to test out new things. We scale it up if the performance is favourable, and vice versa.
(3) Trust Data — We believe in people and experience, but sometimes objective data just speaks clearer and is more reliable. And every time, the fact tends to follow the result predicted by data because that was where it came from.
